Journalist, Pageant Queen, Influencer: Charlie Lister

What is your story?
My name is Charlotte Lister I’m the current Ms. Diamond South Yorkshire and I will be competing for the title of Ms. Diamond U.K. later on in the year with the chance to go to Las Vegas to compete in Regency International.
I’m currently raising awareness of cancer and end of life care as well as interviewing fellow pageant queens for pageant magazine. When I’m not doing pageant related things I’m a mum and I work for a manufacturing company.
Why do you do what you do?
Pageant wise I want to represent the U.K. on an international stage, carry on my interviews, and eventually write a book about my experience. I also want to keep raising awareness of cancer and end of life care due to the fact of losing 2 granddads and a grandma to cancer. My dad and aunt are both in remission and 2 years ago I found a lump in my breast luckily it wasn’t serious but I want to be an advocate for people to be cancer aware.

What are some projects you are currently working on?
I’m still interviewing beauty queens from across the world for my pageant lockdown blog and also for pageant magazine.

What are your goals for the short-term and long-term?
I want to start laying the foundations of my book. Release my book with a publication house and to have competed internationally again. I would also like to start my own charity.

Who or what inspires you?
People that give without wanting to receive anything in return inspire me.

If you could change anything about your industry, what would it be?
I think the pageant industry has become more inclusive and allows people of all ages sizes and material status to compete but I wish the non-pageant community would understand how much community and charity work we do and what a difference we make.

What do you plan to do once you cross the millionaire mark?

Live in the sun as well as continuing sharing my platform of cancer awareness and end of life care but as my own charity.
