Angel Her from Manitowoc, WI is a class act superstar in her modeling, community service and anti-bullying and anti-domestic violence advocacy as Miss America Nation 2023, formerly Miss Hmong USA America Nation 2022. At only 14 years old, she is a global queen at the Miss & Mr America Nation Pageant organization founded by the owner and CEO Dr. Krystal Okeke Chanchangi. In addition to this, she is currently in 9th grade at Lincoln High School, a supporter of the local DVC InCourge, and an ambassador for Shop Phoenix Glam.
Why do you do what you do?
Angel loves being a pageant queen through Miss & Mr America Nation pageant organization founded by the CEO Dr. Krystal Okeke Chanchangi. It’s allowed her to be able to make a stronger impact for causes she’s passionate about, such as being an advocate for the local DVC InCourage and for anti-bullying, because there needs to be more awareness in the world for those women and children who need their assistance. It’s a state funded program that doesn’t receive the adequate funding they need.
As for the anti-bullying Angel feels there aren't enough resources available to young kids and teens. The physical, verbal, and emotional abuse/violence is causing even young children in elementary schools to commit suicide from being bullied.
As for being a model and actress Angel does it because it’s always been a dream of hers to walk in NYFW, Paris FW, walk for Vogue, Gucci, and so many more!
What are some projects you are currently working on?
A current project she is working on is creating more awareness and garnering more support against anti-bullying proposals that she had written with the help of her mother Michelle Goessl. She hopes that the local mayor Justin Nickels, the state Governor, and President of the United States will take those proposals into consideration to help make a difference! She is also expanding her campaigning for the local DMC InCourge.
What are your goals for the short-term and long-term ?
Short-term goals Angel has are to continue to be able to maintain being an A honor roll student on her journey as a pageant queen, model, and actress. She also wants to continue to do well in her high school calculus class, because she needs that class to be a neurosurgeon and knows it’s a challenging class that requires more time and effort on her part to be successful in that class.
Long- term goals Angel has would be going to college to become a neurosurgeon, as well as continuing to make a difference, help create change in the world, and inspire and encourage others. She also wants to become a famous model, and walk in more NYFW shows, as well as Paris Fashion Week for Vogue, Gucci, Versace, and so many more. She also wants to become a famous actress, and be an advocate for all people of Asian Descent.
Who or what inspires you?
Angel Her says that she is motivated and inspired by Dr. Krystal Okeke Chanchangi who is the CEO and founder of Miss America Nation pageant organization as well Kids Multicultural World organization. Dr. Krystal Okeke Chanchangi believes in and helps each ambassador in so many different ways to help everyone who’s committed succeed and so much more! Shei as well as the National Outreach Director who is Angel’s mother, Miss Michelle Goessl, motivate and inspire her and all her sister queens with love, passion and leadership!
Liz Armendariz, the CEO and founder of Shop Phoenix Glam and Diosa Beauty Creations & Cosmetics, also inspires and motivates Angel. Liz gave her a chance to represent and be a part of her brand, even though Angel didn’t think that she’d want someone her age to represent her designs and cosmetics. When Liz said yes, and gave her that change Angel says she was so excited, motivated, and inspired to not only work but work hard at fulfilling her goals and dreams in life.
If you could change anything about your industry, what would it be?
Angel would change how people look at others differently based on their weight, age, height, race/ethnic background, marital status, and stop the stereotypes.
What do you plan to do once you cross the millionaire mark?
Once she crosses the millionaire mark, she’d like to create her own organization to educate others all over the world about anti-bullying, the effects it causes physically, mentally, and emotionally. She also plans to start an organization to help kids that feel as though they can’t talk to their parents, friends, teachers, staff, or relatives and be an advocate for all people of Asian Descent.
