The HBCU Scholarship

It focuses on providing essential financial support to African-American women actively pursuing higher education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

This scholarship program not only seeks to alleviate the financial burdens associated with academic pursuits but also aspires to foster greater diversity and equity within the educational landscape. By awarding scholarships of up to $8,600 to eligible candidates, covering tuition, room, and board expenses, this program endeavors to open doors of opportunity and enable Black women to overcome financial obstacles on their journey towards higher education.

It is a testament to Mary J. Blige's longstanding commitment to education and social justice, with the ultimate goal of creating a brighter and more inclusive future for Black women.

Are You Eligible?

The eligibility criteria for the HBCU scholarship are carefully designed to target deserving candidates. To qualify for this scholarship, applicants must be black women either currently enrolled at or planning to enroll in specific Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Demonstrating financial need and academic achievement are essential prerequisites, as this ensures that the scholarship is accessible to those who face economic challenges but exhibit dedication and excellence in their studies. Furthermore, a solid commitment to community service is another crucial criterion, reflecting the emphasis on nurturing well-rounded individuals who not only excel academically but also actively engage in bettering their communities.

This well-rounded eligibility framework underscores the scholarship's mission to support and uplift the educational journeys of Black women who embody these qualities.
